“Life games reflect life aims. And the games we choose to play indicate not only our type, but also our level of inner development.”
Typically, after a session is hosted (or before for planning purposes), loot is always a hot topic. All loot whether mundane or wonderous is to be recorded in the session log once the downtime days are rolled, except in the case of non-canon that awards a flat amount of 8. Below is the reward guideline chart DMs will follow after hosting a session that corresponds to the specific tier. Please use the Session Log Generator for help on what to add to your session log.
Dungeon masters receive double downtime for sessions hosted.
-
- When running non-cannon, a DM is awarded 100% of the XP, as opposed to half.
All DMs gain 50 x Hours hosted in gold bonus to their character of choice that gains the downtime and XP. Sessions must be over 1 hour to gain downtime, rewards and DM benefits.
Using the following generator for gold, is suggested for individual or individual with items.
If a session ends up being 5 or more hours, each player is guaranteed 1 magic item max. Not every session is required to give out gold/magic items, despite hitting the 5-hour hosting reward. Potions are excluded from this but should be given out reasonably. Please do not give out multiple potions of Giant’s Strength or Storm Giant’s Strength.
-
- Example 1: 5-hour game for T2 party of 6, will give each player an uncommon item.
- Example 2: Mixed tier session of T2, one player is T1. Session lasts 6 hours, the T1 a common item while the T2’s get one uncommon.
Failure to follow the guidelines when giving out too much loot and/or gold will cause negative outcomes on the world. Be cautious when giving out items. The following are examples of alternative quest rewards:
-
- Art pieces, favors, lore notes, etc.
Avoid giving out too much gold as it will break the economy and may cause an increase in gold consumption temporarily for the server. This could be in the form of items costing more, or downtime expenses being doubled.
TRP quests may be ran, awarding a limit of 100gp as a total party allocated reward. Two players minimum are required to partake in these to run, with the max party size being 4.
Higher tiered players playing on lower tiered session will take half XP for hours played.
